The Healthy Atmosphere campaign

Welcome to my website about fixing pollution with clean technology, philosophy and an optimistic outlook on the future. It is about using science to reveal the truth, and to bring about good progress.

I am Robert Copcutt and this website is about my service to the world. It is about helping people make the unprecedented transitions we are experiencing. I care, and one way I figure I can help is to present some important ideas from my unique perspective.

My primary ambition since about age 11 has been to become an engineer and do my best to deliver clean technology solutions so that we can have healthier air, and water. My clean energy solutions page outlines my technical vision for the near future.

By presenting my technical vision I hope to convince you that there is a solution to global warming and peak oil that benefits most life on earth and thereby gather support to make the investment required. To reinforce the message that we need to embrace rapid change I have also written a series of essays starting with one about global warming.

I have put my ideas forward in essays that I will keep updated as a concise, and hopefully valuable, source of key ideas. A blog was considered but I did not want to leave the web littered with of out-of-date text for people to waste their time reading.

After a great deal of consideration I have also decided to ask for donations. My reasons are explained in detail on the donate page but a quick explanation is worth having on this front page. So much talk about global warming turns to behaviour change and adapting to climate change. We have to be ever so careful when we ask people to change their behaviour. Al Gore and other high-profile campaigners have received a lot of criticism for calling for people to reduce their carbon footprints while they have huge ones themselves because of all their air travel etc. They are accused of being hypocritical and if such accusations stick it damages their campaigns. Instead, I am working to promote more integrity and honesty and I can promise this is not hypocritical.

There is too much attention being directed at adapting to climate change. Instead we should be stopping it happening in the first place! It can be done. It would be surprisingly easy to build clean energy systems to supply all our needs if enough people put more effort into selfless and honest cooperation. My clean energy solutions essay explains briefly how it could be done. No company likes to invest in new technology that cannot be defended so numerous details have had to be withheld but I can promise I have only talked about technologies where I have a high confidence of them being technically feasible. The subsequent essays concentrate more on developing a healthy mind-set that will allow the technical developments to take place. Millions of people in poor countries are already struggling to adapt to climate change. If we let it change much more the challenges will rapidly become enormous. It would be so much easier to increase our efforts to switch to renewable energy now.

My healthy atmosphere campaign is one of many on the theme but it is unusually positive with a unique personal twist. I am offering practical solutions from several diverse angles so by asking for donations I can put those solutions into action more quickly and together we can increase the rate of movement from the dirty energy production technology of the last century towards a new cleaner future.
